Orientation Program for First-year Students On January 3rd, the Mathematics Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University, organised a fantastic welcome ceremony for the first-grade students. On 19th December 2022, the Mathematics Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University organised a Meet & Greet Event on Understanding Knowledge. In the panel session, Dr. Abdurrahman Ahmed Wahab and Mr. David Wafula Waswa discussed pertinent issues about knowledge and knowledge acquisition, delving into the philosophical and sociological aspects of knowledge, and their relevance to education in the classrooms. The panel discussed the different types of knowledge, the transferability of knowledge, and the notion of a limit to knowledge acquisition. Department of Mathematics Staff Visit the New TIU Library On September 20th, 2022, the Head of the Department of Mathematics Education at Tishk International University and department staff paid visited the new TIU library. The Library Director accompanied the staff during the tour, explaining the library sections and how they manage the library workflow. The Department of Mathematics was delighted to see many mathematics textbooks brought to the library. The staff will emphasise directing students to visit and read these textbooks to promote reading, research and development.

Community-Based Project in Batas High School for Boys/Girls On Thursday, 11th of October 2022, a team of academic and administrative staff Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University visited Batas Boys and Girls High school in Harir. The visit, in which Dr Orhan Tug, Head of the Department of Mathematics Education, was to refurbish a classroom as part of the department’s community project.
