About the Role:
The Mathematics Education Department at Tishk International University is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our department as a University Lecturer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and research in mathematics and will be responsible for delivering high-quality education across a range of undergraduate courses. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our vibrant academic community and to help shape the future of mathematics education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures in various undergraduate mathematics courses, including but not limited to Calculus, Complex Analysis, Probability and Statistics.
- Develop course materials, assignments, and assessments that promote deep understanding and critical thinking among students.
- Supervise and mentor students in their academic development and research projects.
- Research:
- Conduct high-quality research in mathematics, contributing to the department’s strong research profile.
- Publish research findings in reputable academic journals and present at conferences.
- Other departmental contributions:
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic activities.
- Contribute to the broader academic community through service roles, such as committee memberships.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Ph.D. in Pure, Applied Mathematics or Mathematics Education is strongly preferred; however, candidates with an MSc will also be considered.
- For local applicants, Pedagogy certificate from a local university and Academic Title are must.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching a range of undergraduate mathematics courses.
- A strong research record with publications in reputable academic journals.
- Ability to develop and deliver course materials that inspire and engage students.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of moral and professional work ethics in an academic setting.
