Scientific Trip to Bio Laboratory
The Biology Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University, organised a scientific trip to Bio Laboratory for 4th-grade students on December 1st, 2022. Mrs. Zhikal Omer and Mr. Zanyar Othman supervised the trip. The trip aimed to provide students with an opportunity to understand the tests conducted in the laboratory, including Cobas Integra 6000 photometric analysis for biochemical and hormonal tests.
Medonic Cell Counter For CBC, ESR machine for erythrocyte sedimentation rate, Alegria Fully automated ELISA is commonly used to measure antibodies, antigens, proteins, and glycoproteins, and Coagulation analyser for PT, PTT, Fibrinogen, and Spectrophotomonometer for colourimetric tests Euroimmun for a food allergy panel.
The trip supervisors provided students with guides to support them during the trip. Lab technicians from Bio Laboratory hosted and guided the staff and students, explaining the procedure of the tests. Our staff and students greatly benefitted from the visit and appreciated the practical and detailed explanations provided by the technicians. At the end of the visit, the supervisors gave an assignment to the students regarding the trip. The trip was successful, and students had an opportunity to understand the procedures, the process of the tests in laboratories, and the importance of these tests in various scientific fields.
