As part of the Biotechnology course activities, a scientific debate entitled “Should Human Gene Editing (CRISPR) Be Allowed for Non-Medical Purposes such as Intelligence and Appearance?” was successfully conducted yesterday (May 6th, 2026) under the supervision of Mr. Harmand A. Hama. The debate featured two groups of 3rd grade students who presented opposing perspectives on the ethical, social, and scientific implications of human gene editing technologies. As part of the Community Service Project, second-grade students from the department carried out a voluntary initiative by visiting several government schools to paint and enhance parts of the school environment. This initiative highlights the students’ commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, reflecting the positive values and spirit of the department. Through this project, students contributed to improving public spaces while strengthening cooperation between the university and the local community. The activities were successfully conducted under the supervision of Mrs. Sawsan Hameed, whose guidance ensured the effective organization and implementation of the project.
