As part of the Biotechnology course activities, a scientific debate entitled “Are Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) More Beneficial or Harmful?” was successfully conducted on Sunday (May 10th, 2025) under the supervision of Mr. Harmand A. Hama.
The debate featured two groups of 3rd grade students who presented opposing perspectives on the advantages and disadvantages of genetically modified organisms and their impact on human health, agriculture, and the environment.
The Proposition Group included:

During the debate, both groups demonstrated excellent critical thinking and academic engagement by discussing key issues related to GMO technology and its applications in food production and biotechnology. The students supported their arguments using scientific research articles, real-world examples, ethical considerations, and case studies.
The event provided students with an opportunity to enhance their scientific communication, teamwork, research, and analytical skills while exploring one of the most debated topics in modern biotechnology.
The Biotechnology course continues to encourage students to actively participate in academic discussions that connect scientific developments with societal, environmental, and ethical perspectives
