The Biology Education DepartmentFaculty of Education at Tishk International University, organised a scientific trip to the Salahaddin University Museum for fourth-grade students on December 6th, 2022. Mrs. Sawsan Hameed and Mrs. Gasheen Bakhtiyar supervised the trip. The benefit of field trips is that to provide substantial practical experience and theoretical knowledge in different circumstances. It facilitates strong bonds among students and aids in improving communication, growth, and development processes. This trip aimed to show students the oldest animal museum in the region and to see the different phyla and species they studied during the first semester in chordate classes.

The trip supervisors provided students with guides to support them during the trip. In addition, the biology staff from Salahaddin University hosted and guided the staff and students. They explained everything related to the museum about how old those samples were, the species related to which phylum, when they were collected and how they are preserving them. Our staff and students benefitted from the visit and appreciated the practical and detailed explanations provided by the staff. At the end of the visit, the supervisors gave an assignment to the students regarding the trip. The students enjoyed the trip and were able to biologically evaluate the species that included invertebrates, vertebrates, and insects collected in Kurdistan respectively.
