As part of the Biotechnology course activities, a scientific debate entitled “Should Human Gene Editing (CRISPR) Be Allowed for Non-Medical Purposes such as Intelligence and Appearance?” was successfully conducted yesterday (May 6th, 2026) under the supervision of Mr. Harmand A. Hama. The debate featured two groups of 3rd grade students who presented opposing perspectives on the ethical, social, and scientific implications of human gene editing technologies. Biology Education Department is pleased to announce the launch of an international collaborative research project entitled "Water Treatment Using Crop Biomass", which has recently received approval and funding under the International Research Network Grant Scheme – Equity THE Impact Ranking 2025. On February 17, 2026, second-year students from the Biology Education Department, Faculty of Education, Tishk International University, visited the Erbil Agricultural Research Directorate to explore the Insect Museum as part of their practical entomology studies. The field trip was supervised by Ms. Sawsan Hamid and Ms. Shnyar Qadir. The visit provided students with valuable hands-on experience, enhanced their understanding of insect biodiversity and pest management, and strengthened the connection between classroom learning and realworld agricultural applications.
