International Workshop on Green Technology

On May 8th, 2023, the Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Education, Tishk International University organized an International Workshop on Green Technology, titled: Green Technology: Prospects, Theories and Applications. Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of Board of Trustees, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants, and warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, who included Asst. Prof. Dr. Kamaran Younis M. Amin, Prof. Chm. Dr. Zaiton Abdul Majeed, Representative of UTM, Asst. Prof. Dr. Eridani Representative of UNIAIR, and the Ministry of Higher Education Representative.

The workshop event started with the welcoming speech by the event host Mr. Sivar Aziz. The workshop included three sessions, in which three keynote speakers delivered their presentations. The first speaker was Prof. Dr. Nicola Manini, Physics Department, University of Milan, Milan, Italy. He presented his research entitled Classical Simulations of Sliding Interfaces: The Interplay of Structure and Dynamics. The presentation has a potential impact in the field of interfaces sliding in mechanics application. A Q & A session was held at the end of Prof. Dr. Nicola Manini’s presentation, in which participants shared compelling inquiries and engaged in fruitful discussions with the presenter.

The second speaker was Prof. Dr. Azeez A. Barzinjy, Research Center, Soran University and Tishk International University. The presentation, titled Eutectic-based Ionic Liquids: A Novel Green Medium for Synthesizing Metal and Metal Nanoparticles, has a potential impact in the field of green synthesis of nanoparticles and application in nanotechnology. A Q & A session was also held at the end of this session.

The third speaker, Prof. Dr. Samir Mustafa Hamad, Head of Research Center, Soran University, delivered a presentation titled: Effect of the Growth Solution on Optical Properties of ZnO Thin Films Grown by Green Method for the Design ZnO/NiO Junction. The presentation has a potential impact in the field of green energy and application, such as solar cells. A Q & A session was arranged at the end of the presentation delivered, in which the presenter actively answered the inquiries of the participants, and engaging discussions took place.

As a token of our gratitude for their invaluable contributions, and to honour the exceptional expertise and insights shared, the Department of Physics Education presented Certificates of Appreciation to the keynote speakers. The department recognizes the significance of their presentations in enhancing our understanding and appreciation of various topics within the field of physics education. We extend our sincere appreciation to all the keynote speakers for their dedication and commitment to advancing the field of physics education. Their valuable contributions have undoubtedly enriched our professional development and enriched the knowledge base of our department. For Certificates of Participation, participants are required to kindly visit Room 237, Education Building, Tishk International University.

The workshop was successfully held with the help of our distinguished keynote speakers, session chairs, attendants, registrars, and staff of the Tishk International University. The International Workshop on Green Technology is an important event to enhance the knowledge on clean energy; i.e renewable and sustainable energy and possible applications that may replace traditional energy forms. The workshop attendees were impressed with the topics discussed and interested in the presented contents. Positive feedback was received with hopes to organize such workshops again in the soon future.
