
Erbil, June 2026 – The English Language Teaching (ELT) Department at Tishk International University proudly celebrates the outstanding participation of its senior student Armin Ahmed Khalil, a supervisee of Mr. Behcet Celik, in the 2nd Student Graduation Project Competition (SGPC), held from June 2–4, 2026, at Ibn Sina Hall, New Dentistry Building.
During the competition, Armin presented his graduation research project entitled “Kurdish University Students’ Perceptions of Using ChatGPT for Academic Assignments.” The study explored university students’ views on the use of artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, in academic work, highlighting both its educational benefits and the challenges associated with its use in higher education.
Armin delivered his presentation with confidence, professionalism, and strong academic competence. His ability to explain the research objectives, methodology, findings, and implications attracted considerable interest from faculty members, students, and visitors attending the event. The presentation demonstrated not only his research skills but also his critical understanding of contemporary educational technologies and their growing impact on learning and teaching.
The project reflects the ELT Department’s commitment to encouraging innovative research and addressing current issues in education. By investigating students’ perceptions of AI-assisted learning tools, Armin contributed valuable insights to ongoing discussions about technology integration in academic environments.
