We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of a classroom redesign project led by our outstanding research students as a community service initiative. This project was proudly supported by the ELT Department and Tishk International University.
The goal was to convert a traditional, teacher-centered classroom into a modern, interactive, and student-focused learning space that fosters creativity, collaboration, and engagement—aligning with today’s educational needs.
The Project Team
This initiative was made possible by the dedication of our students:

The project was expertly supervised and guided by:
- Dr. Dogan Ozdemir – Dean of the Faculty of Education
- Dr. Venera Ulker – Head of the English Language Teaching Department
- Dr. Ünal Ulker – Research Supervisor
- Dr. Beheçt Celik – Head of School Experiences
Project Stages and Timeline
The project was completed through four distinct stages:
- Stage 1 – December 1, 2024: The students visited the school where they were conducting their practice teaching to request official permission. The school administration warmly welcomed their proposal and approved the project.
- Stage 2 – Planning & Design: With input from their supervisors, the students developed a comprehensive plan based on educational research and modern classroom design principles.
- Stage 3 – Implementation: They redesigned the space with flexible furniture, interactive technology, and a layout aimed at boosting student engagement and learning.
- Stage 4 – Completion & Handover – February 9, 2025: The redesigned classroom was finalized and officially handed over to the school. Both students and teachers expressed appreciation for the transformation.
A Lasting Impact
A huge congratulations to our students and academic mentors for their dedication and teamwork. This project is a shining example of how future educators can make a real difference in their communities by applying their academic skills to address real-world needs.
