Physics Education Department Participates in 6th International Spring Festival Event 2023 The Dean of Students at Tishk International University (TIU) organized the 6th International Festival of Language, Culture and Science at the TIU campus under the theme of Women Empowerment, held on March 8th, 2023. The Physics Education Department participated in the event, demonstrating different scientific experiments (Observing the Sun and Sunspots with a telescope, primary colour combinations using a universal rotator, electric generator, homemade vacuum cleaner, Van Der Graaf Generator, animation wheel, anti-gravity using Faraday's Law and Lenz's Law, demos with the Plasma Globe and Center of Mass). Field Trip to Brayaty Primary School On May 12th, 2022, Physics Education Department 3rd-grade students participated in the Ronaky Hawler Educational Institutions' "Young Inventors Project Olympiad Certificate Delivery Ceremony." This engagement allowed students to understand school culture on the field. Our students observed how the school community shapes school culture, including school administrators, instructors, students, and parents. A General Director of Education representative joined the ceremony and delivered the certificates. A Visit to Syrian Students at Darashakran Camp On April 18th, 2022, Physics Education Department student volunteers visited two Darashakran Refugee Camp schools as part of the project organised by the ELT Department. Darashakran Syrian Refugee Camp is located by Erbil City and is home to many Syrian refugees. They distributed school supplies amongst 3000 Syrian refugee students and were joined by Asst. Astronomy Club The Astronomy Club at the Physics Department, Tishk International University held the first outdoor activity on February 2nd, 2022. The participating students and staff members gathered on this sunny day outdoors to observe the surface and spots on the Sun through a telescope, The telescope that we use in the Astronomy Club events is the property of Mohammad Abdulaziz from Physics Education Department -2021-2022.
