On the 15th of May 2019, the Physics department, Faculty of Education, Tishk international University organized a scientific workshop, namely "Quantum mechanics". The workshop was designed to present different topics in quantum mechanics prepared by the 4th-year students. The workshop events started with a welcoming speech by the head of the Physics Department. After that, a keynote speech was given by Asst. Prof. Dr Azeez Abdullah. A table tennis tournament was organized by the Faculty of Education, Tishk International University (TIU); student entertain events. The final match was between English Learning teaching (ELT) Department and the Physics Education Department. Salman Haider, a second-year Physics student won the match after a hard competition. The Physics department is very grateful to that achievement; the dean of the Faculty has awarded the winner and wish him further success and a brilliant future.

On the 24th of April, 2019, Tishk International University (TIU) organized a cultural festival, an annual event held in the University. The event started at 9 am until 5 pm, where different cultural activities took place and presented. The Physics department participated in the events, the staff and the students were cooperated to organize and facilitate these activities.

 On the 3rd of April, 2019 the Department of Physics organised a scientific workshop on rocks and minerals identification, as it is a core course for the 2nd-year students. The workshop was presented by Mr. Zahid Mohammed Omer from the Department of Geology of Petroleum and Sediments, Duhok Polytechnic University and Mohammed Hazem Awn Al-deen, a 4th-year student at the Department of Applied Geosciences, college of Spatial Planning & Applied Science, University of Duhok. Hydroelectric power station: A scientific trip 2019

On the 2nd of April 2019, the Physics Department, Faculty of Education organised a scientific trip to the Dukan dum, Kurdistan region, Iraq. The aim of the trip was to incorporate students with the concepts of clean power production. Students got the chance to visit Dukan hydroelectric station. Students were guided by a qualified engineer along with the Physics Department staff. The involved staff explained and covered the points and steps involved in hydroelectric power production, questions were also aroused by the students and discussed.
