On Friday, 31st October, the Mathematics Education Department organized a series of family visits in the town of Khalifan, Soran. The purpose of these visits was to strengthen communication and deepen the department’s relationship with its students, their families, and alumni. The delegation consisted of Dr. Orhan Tuğ, Head of the Mathematics Education Department, along with Dr. Mustafa Altun and Dr. Serdar Dayan. The academic staff members were joined by their families, which contributed to a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the day.
The first visit was paid to the family of Ahmed Mustafa, a third-grade student in the department. The delegation was received with great hospitality, and the family prepared a lunch for their guests. During the visit, various matters concerning Ahmed’s studies, academic progress, and future aspirations were discussed in a supportive and encouraging environment. After lunch, the group proceeded to the second visit, meeting with the family of another third-grade student, Ahmed Ismail. This visit allowed the delegation to exchange perspectives regarding the student’s educational journey and the support provided by the department.
In the late afternoon, the delegation visited the family of Yaseen Aziz, an alumnus of the Mathematics Education Department. This visit was particularly valuable as it opened a channel for dialogue regarding graduates’ experiences after completing their studies. The conversation highlighted the importance of maintaining long-term connections between the department and its former students.
Overall, the day was highly productive and meaningful.
