The Mathematics Education Department at Tishk International University is proud to announce the launch of a community-based teaching methodology training program, tailored for pre-service teachers in cooperation with the RISE International Schools. This intensive program will run from June 29 to July 3, 2025, and aims to equip participants with foundational pedagogical skills essential for effective classroom practice.

Comprehensive Modules for Future Educators

The training will consist of six comprehensive modules, each delivered by expert lecturers from different departments within the Faculty of Education. Each module is carefully adapted to suit the developmental level and needs of pre-service teachers, ensuring a supportive and practical learning experience. The modules include:

  • Communication and Ethics: Focused on clear and ethical communication in educational settings.
  • Student-Centered Learning: Emphasizes how to implement student-centered approaches effectively.
  • ICT in Education: Teaches innovative lesson planning using various ICT tools.
  • Innovative Teaching and Learning Methods: Explores modern, engaging teaching strategies.
  • Competence-Based Education: Provides a clear understanding of competence-based frameworks.
  • Educational Integrity and Assessment: Focuses on upholding academic integrity in assessments.

This initiative directly supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing teacher training, as well as Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cross-departmental collaboration within the Faculty of Education.

Learning Outcomes and Recognition

By the end of the training, participants will gain a clear understanding of ethical communication, learn to implement student-centered approaches, and develop innovative lesson plans using ICT tools. They will also be equipped to apply competence-based frameworks and uphold academic integrity in assessments.

  • Lecturers delivering the modules will receive formal letters of recognition for their contribution.
  • Participating students will be awarded certificates of attendance to acknowledge their commitment and engagement.

In fostering well-prepared, ethically grounded, and methodologically skilled future educators, this project also contributes to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by promoting inclusive learning opportunities and encouraging equitable participation across all pre-service teachers.
