As mathematics education department at tishk International university we had a International Workshop with Tempere University. On February 18, 2021 starting by 14:00 till 17:00 in education building, Hall: 302(Online). In total there were 37- participants form faculty of education and some participants from Tempere University. The international workshop was on mathematics curriculum development  which is an academic event in mathematics education department in the academic year 2020-21.  The scope was about mathematics curriculum and its future improvements by different perspectives. The objectives are;

  1. Curriculum development according to the today’s mathematics and mathematics education community.
  2. Curriculum ghosts and the fiveC’s. The hidden fears in the math curriculum and make zero visibility and effects of it.
  3. Group Discussion took place with the questions;         
  •  What kind of spirits (ghosts) according to Bill Doll’s idea of ghosts?
  • Do we recognize a in our curricula?
  • How can we use the five C`s to discuss and to improve our curricula?

 

The topics that were discussed in the workshop are……

  1. Curriculum development according to the demands of today.
  2. Complex Conversations on Curriculum Ghosts and the FiveC’s Revisited Strengthening Teacher Professional Identity
  3. Group Discussion:
  • What kind of spirits (ghosts) according to Bill Doll’s idea of ghosts, do we recognize in our curricula?
  • How can we use the five C`s to discuss and to improve our curricula?

Finally, After the workshop we will be able to

  • Analyze the curriculum according to the five C’s.
  • Reveal the necessity to consider the hidden curriculum in curriculum and syllabus design.
  • Strength the relationships with Tempere University for the further corporations in research.
