Department of Mathematics Education, TIU plans to open joint master program with the Department of Mathematics, Koya Univerity for the next academic year 2019-2020. The first organization meeting was held in Koya University on Monday, 27.05.2019 in order to discuss about the proposal and template curriculum of the program. On 9th May 2019 a team from UK, ACCREDITATION SERVICE for INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS, COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES-ASIC paid a visit to Faculty of Education at Tishk International University in order to accredit the faculty. The purpose of the visit was to accredited the departments of the faculty. Namely, the department of Physics, Mathematics, Biology Education and English Language Teaching. During three days, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, the team was investigating the procedure of education and going through the documentation of the faculty. On March 27th, 2019, Salahaddin University organized a ceremony of awarding an honorary doctorate to the Kurdish scientist Caucher Birkar who recently awarded the world's famous and top prize in mathematics, Fields Medal, known as the noble of Mathematics, in Saad Abdulla Hall. On 26th February 27, 2019, department of mathematics education organized a Terminology Competition for the students in the department. The aim of this event is to improve students understanding of math ability and increase their knowledge about mathematics, particularly the mathematical vocabularies and terms. Terminology Competition is a contest regarding how to write, read and meaning of the mathematical concept and words from Primary school up to university level.
