Second-grade students of the Mathematics Education Department organized a closing ceremony of the 2021 Academic Years' Mathematics Events, held on 27th May 2021. The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, as well as the Heads of Departments and Faculty staff. The students organized fun activities that included three theatrical skits and 2 songs by one of our students, Idris Salih, who also performing with Dr. Orhan Tug, Head of the Mathematics Education Department. To close the ceremony, certificates for attending the Math Day events for the year were issued to students.
Dear all; The Mathematics Education Department of Tishk International University organizes many different types of mathematical activities for the students every year. The closing ceremony will mark International Maths Day and will be celebrated differently this year. Dear students, Please be informed that on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021, there will be a Marathon for women in Sami Abdulrahman Park, in the running track area. The event will begin at 9:00 AM.
The first ICOWOBAS was held 14 years ago, in August 2007, in Surabaya. The purpose of the event was to enhance a new collaboration between Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Indonesia, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. A year later, the second ICOWOBAS was held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on 3-4 June 2009, jointly with the Regional Annual Fundamental Science Seminar (RAFSS 2009). In 2017, the conference was held at Salahaddin University (Kurdistan, Iraq) to enrich the collaboration between UTM, UNAIR, and Salahaddin University. 4th Grade students of the Mathematics Department presented their pre-defense to the department committee on May 6th, 2021. Each student presented their project, demonstrating the different topics and several subjects in mathematics, involving pure math, math education and pure education. The committee members included Prof. Dr. Mowafaq Muhammed, Dr. Orhan Tug, Dr. Abdulnasir Isah, Dr. Salisu Ibrahim, Dr. Aziza Kavlu and Mr. David Wafula Waswa. The Mathematics Education Department of Tishk International University organized a poster presentation for 4th-grade students under the theme of 'The History of Mathematics', on Sunday 2nd, 2021. The posters were designed based on the most famous mathematicians around the world and illustrated their contributions towards the development of mathematics and the world in general. Each student designed a poster according to the mathematician that motivates them and inspires them. Dear students, Tishk International University (Faculty of Education) has arranged the 8th student conference under the title of “8th National Young Researchers Conference”, to be held on May 19th, 2021. The Education Faculty is working on developing a student agency to promote student achievement. Students need to be active participants during their academic journey.
