On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the Mathematics Education Department at Tishk International University (TIU) proudly participated in the inaugural Kurdistan Mathematics Competition. Hosted at the University of Kurdistan-Hewlêr (UKH) Main Auditorium, this landmark event celebrated and challenged the mathematical talent of undergraduate students from across the Kurdistan Region.
A Platform for Mathematical Excellence
Organized by the Kurdish Mathematical Society (KMS) in collaboration with UKH, the competition provided a vibrant platform for academic exchange and spirited rivalry. Our department was represented by a dedicated team of three undergraduate students, accompanied by a faculty supervisor, who demonstrated their skills in two rigorous problem-solving sessions.
The competition covered advanced mathematical topics, including Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Ordinary Differential Equations, with all activities conducted in English.
Celebrating Collaboration and Success
Despite a last-minute rescheduling from June 19 due to regional security considerations, the event was a great success. It not only fostered academic growth but also strengthened the bonds among universities in the region.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers and the host university for their warm hospitality and professional coordination. We look forward to future opportunities to foster mathematical excellence and academic collaboration in our region.
