On Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, a group of Grade 6 students from the British International School, Kurdistan (BISK) embarked on an enriching academic tour of Tishk International University (TIU). The young visitors were warmly welcomed by Dr. Orhan Tug, Head of the Mathematics Education Department.
An Interactive Learning Experience
The visit began with a guided tour of the department’s facilities and educational resources. The students then participated in a lively question and answer session in the Mathematics model classroom. During this session, TIU lecturers and students showcased the use of physical manipulatives in teaching. They demonstrated how these tools can make complex mathematical concepts both fun and accessible, turning abstract ideas into tangible, engaging experiences.
