National Workshop on AI Literacy and Academic Integrity: Enhancing Teachers’ Skills in Recognizing AI-Generated Writing
The English Language Teaching Department, Faculty of Education, Tishk International University–Erbil, is pleased to announce a National Workshop entitled “AI Literacy and Academic Integrity: Enhancing Teachers’ Skills in Recognizing AI-Generated Writing.”
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into education, teachers need to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to recognize AI-generated writing, promote academic integrity, and guide students toward the ethical and responsible use of AI.
The workshop will provide participants with an introduction to AI literacy in academic writing, practical guidance on identifying common features of AI-generated texts, and strategies for maintaining academic integrity in teaching and assessment. Participants will also take part in interactive recognition and text-analysis activities designed to strengthen their ability to distinguish between human-written and AI-generated content.
The workshop will further address the ethical and responsible use of AI in teaching and learning, including transparency, appropriate classroom practices, assessment design, and ways educators can support students in using AI tools responsibly.
Participants will complete an Initial Recognition Practice at the beginning of the workshop and a Final Recognition Practice after the sessions, allowing them to apply the knowledge and strategies introduced during the workshop and reflect on the development of their recognition skills and confidence.
