ELT Department Shines at International Festival
On April 25th, 2024, the English Language Teaching Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University dazzled audiences at the 7th International Spring Festival of Language, Culture & Science. They secured fourth place in the USA Culture Tent competition as a result of their exceptional organisation. The ELT Department showcased the American culture and highlighted the festival’s theme of coexistence by showcasing the various cultures that contribute to America’s multicultural society, including Hawaiian, Mexican, African American, Native American, Asian, and Kurdish cultures.
Dr. Venera Ulker, Ms. Aivar L. Surji, and Ms. Lydya Aso were responsible for coordinating the tent, where they adeptly displayed a harmonious exhibition of American culture and solidarity. The judges and attendees commended their leadership and vision for their innovative and dedicated endeavours to showcase the uniqueness and diversity of American culture. The 1st students from the ELT Department who served as representatives of the American tent were Fatima Madhat Popo, Noor Tofiq Sdiq, Dania Wuria Muhammad-Ameen, Al Hassan Ahmed Khudhair, Osman Abdulkadir Ahmed, and Sumaya Rashad Mahmood. These students demonstrated the fundamental nature of cross-cultural exchange with tremendous enthusiasm and creativity. The department is thankful to all contributors and remains committed to promoting language acquisition and cross-cultural comprehension on a global level.
