Dear students, The Faculty of Education at Tishk International University has organized the 9th Student Conference titled “9th National Young Researchers Conference”, to be held on May 26th, 2022, aiming to raise students’ achievement. Students are required to be active participants during their academic journey at university. When learners transit from being passive recipients to becoming more active in the learning process and actively involved in learning decisions, they develop more excellent agency. On February 23rd of 2022, the department of English Language Teaching (ELT) at the Faculty of Education at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an open workshop on reading/writing. The workshop was aimed at improving students’ reading and writing performance. In the workshop, the Assit. Lecturers Karwan Karim, Kanar Zirak, and Soran Mustafa at the ELT department introduced the writing technique of “paraphrasing” to the 1st grade students of the department.
