Third grade students from ELT department paid a visit to elderly home in Erbil; On 16 December 2015 the aim of this visit was to see the elder-lies’ condition out there. The students served lunch to the elderly and they were extremely pleased with our visit. ELT 4th grades of Education Faculty had paid a visit to Darashakran Refugees Camp Primary School on Monday December 14th, 2015. At the beginning of  visit the principle of the school welcomed them warmly and he gave information about the school, students and the process of studying. They visited the classes and provided them some stationary gifts which were bought by the 4th grade students. In some of the classes our 4th grades presented the pupils short English lessons and the kids enjoyed their lessons very much. Linguistics Poster Presentation Day

The second round of ELT’s Poster Presentation Day was held on the December 7th, at the building of Faculty of Education. The Linguistics Poster Project was supervised and coordinated by Dr. Ashraf Riadh who worked hard with the students so the event went successful. Over 50 projects were exhibited, which means most of the 3rd year students participated in the event. Students seemed enthusiastic and showed it by taking lots of pictures with their lecturers and friends. Developing Communicative Language Teaching Lesson Scenarios Workshop

The English Language Teaching (ELT) at Tishk International University is organizing a series of teaching training workshops for its fourth grade students. The sixth of the workshops series was conducted by Mrs. Yeşim Turak on Developing Communicative Language Teaching Lesson Scenarios on December 8th. The student participants were satisfied and actively involved with her demonstration of the contents. Participants stated that workshops as such will make a good contribution to their learning and teaching practice. The ELT department would like to announce that the workshops series will continue and expects active participation of its students.

ELT Academician Gives a Seminar

ELT teaching staff  and Fulbright-alumnus, Pashew M. Nuri, had a two-day workshop. As a part of the Erbil team for the University Alumni Workshops that are being arranged and held by the University of Cincinnati, USA, Mr. Pashew presented a workshop on Study Abroad and co-presented another one on Job Interviewing Skills. The workshops target Iraqi U.S university alumni to be trained in areas of leadership and presentation skills, grant writing, studying abroad, public speaking, and job interview skills.
