The Joy of a Beginning: First Year Students Welcome Party On 22nd, December, 2016 education faculty welcomed its foundation year students. Foundation year (FY) students are the first year students of English Language Teaching, Physics, Mathematics and Biology departments. The students spent time with their lecturers and friends .The program started with the speech of the Dean of the Education Faculty (Dr. Suleyman Celik). He introduced to the philosophy of education in the Education faculty and Tishk International University. He lastly wished good wills and success in their new academic year.

Bullying; First of the ELT Lecture Series

On December 21st, Mr. Faiek Saied offered a lecture on Bullying and Its affects on Student to the ELT department students. MR. Faiek Saied is a teacher and writer with numerous books on educational concerns in Kurdistan. For detailed information visit his page here. The ELT department of Tishk International university organized the first lecture of its educational lecture series as a part of its Student Skills Development and Teachers' Professional Development  Programs. The lecture was took more than an hour that ended with critical encounters between the presenter and students of of the Faculty of Education.

Graphic Organizer Exhibition

ELT’s forth year students are going on presenting their creatives. This time they presented their skills in different organizations. For developing themselves in “Material adaptation Development” lesson, sixteen students presented different graphic organizations from different skills and the fields of language like: Grammar, vocabulary and reading.   Projects exhibited shown below:

Some tools for Flipped Classroom

Another session was added to English Language Teaching Department‘s the Professional Development Session Series by Assistant Lecturer Mr. Ibrahim Nişancı. He presented a seminar to the Education Faculty under the title of “Some tools for Flipped Classroom”. The web based tools were suggested to educators that can be applied in a Flipped classroom to produce an alternative classroom. The importance of using online teaching application was shown during the workshop. Such online application tools can facilitate the teachers’ duty to an immense extent.
