Presentation The Gut-Brain Axis

On October 12th, 2022,  Miss Heshu Jalal, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University presented a presentation for biology staff under the title “The Gut-Brain Axis”.

The human microbiota has a fundamental role in host physiology and pathology. Gut microbial alteration, also known as dysbiosis, is a condition associated not only with gastrointestinal disorders but also with diseases affecting other distal organs. Recently it became evident that intestinal bacteria can affect the central nervous system (CNS) physiology and inflammation.

The effects of dysbiosis on the gut-brain axis, digestive disorders, and psychological disorders were discussed and clarified. The audience was very interested in the topic and asked different questions related to the presentation.
