Orientation for First Grade Biology Students
On December 11th, 2023, the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an orientation program for first-grade students. The event aimed to welcome the new students and familiarize them with the courses, rules, and activities of the Biology Education Department. The orientation program started at 9:30 AM, and the Head of the Biology Education Department, Mr. Harmand Ali, warmly welcomed the students to the department, congratulated them on reaching this academic level, and delivered a motivational speech to the future biologists. He also went through the qualities and values the students should uphold during the education journey and professional life and spoke about what it takes to be a student working in the educational area.
After the initial presentations, the Biology Department staff at Tishk International University provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s system, including the study system, GPA calculation, website, lecture notes, and regulations within the Faculty of Education.
Subsequently, the first-grade students were taken on a campus tour. This was followed by the final session of the orientation program, led by the Dean of Students Representatives from the Biology Education Department. This session emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities at TIU, such as workshops, projects, and community service, highlighting their value in the educational experience.
