Fourth Grade Poster Presentation

The Department of Biology, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University organized a Poster Presentation for fourth-grade students under the theme: Evolution is the Backbone of Natural and Applied Sciences, held on April 3rd, 2021. The presentation was organized under the supervision of Assist Prof. Dr Abdulrahman Mahmoud Dogara, Lecturer at the Biology Education Department. Twenty one posters were presented and evaluated by different lecturers.

Evolution is defined as a change in the heritable traits of biological populations over generations. These traits are the manifestations of genes that are passed down from one generation to the next during reproduction. As a result of mutation, genetic recombination, and other causes of genetic variety, different features tend to exist within any given population.

The evolutionary pressures that determine whether a property should be widespread or rare within a population change, resulting in heritable characteristics changing over time. Biodiversity exists at all levels of biological organization, including species, individual creatures, and molecules.

On behalf of the Department of Biology, we would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to all students who participated in the poster presentation, and also thank Assist Prof, Dr. Abdulrahman Mahmoud Dogara for his efforts in promoting student engagement in such projects.
