On October 28, 2024, the Biology Education Department at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an insightful scientific field trip to Sami Abdulrahman Park. Supervised by Ms. Sawsan Hamid and Ms. Shnyar Qadir, the excursion focused on invertebrate studies, offering students a valuable, hands-on learning experience in a natural setting.

Learning Through Observation

Students enthusiastically engaged in observing and collecting various invertebrate species, gaining practical knowledge about their unique characteristics and vital ecological roles. This immersive experience allowed them to connect with topics covered in the classroom, enriching their understanding of taxonomy, habitat interactions, and how invertebrates contribute to maintaining ecosystem balance.

Enhancing Classroom Learning

This field trip provided a tangible, real-world application of biological concepts, reinforcing the importance of practical observation in scientific education. The day concluded with students having a deeper appreciation for the diverse world of invertebrates and the critical part they play in our environment.
