9th International Conference and Workshop on Basic and Applied Sciences (ICOWOBAS-2023)
Tishk International University hosted the 9th International Conference and Workshop on Basic and Applied Sciences (ICOWOBAS-2023) from May 8th to May 10th, 2023. The conference was a great success, bringing together about 400 participants as speakers and listeners from various parts of the world.
ICOWOBAS was first established in 2007 to encourage collaboration between universities in Indonesia and Malaysia. Since then, the conference has been held biannually by one of the participating universities. This year, Tishk International University was proud to host the event, alongside Salahaddin University Erbil (Iraq), Universitas Teknologi Malaysia (Malaysia), and Universitas Airlangga (Indonesia). The conference received an impressive 170 paper submissions, which were carefully evaluated and selected by an expert panel of reviewers. The selected papers covered various topics related to basic and applied sciences, including biology, biomedical, mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, and environmental sciences.
In addition to paper presentations, the conference also featured five different workshops that provided a platform for in-depth discussions on various topics related to basic and applied sciences. The workshops covered topics such as interdisciplinary applications of mathematics, biomedical engineering in biological advances, theories and applications of green energy, and emerging security challenges of multiprotocol IoT gateways.
The conference was graced by 15 keynote speakers participating who shared their valuable insights and experiences with the participants. The speakers were from various countries, including Poland, Italy, Romania, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and local professors who brought their unique perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in the field of basic and applied sciences. The conference was mainly held on campus, but also provided a virtual platform for those who could not physically attend. The conference provided an excellent platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to share their latest research findings, discuss challenges and opportunities, and explore new collaborations in the field.
Overall, the 9th ICOWOBAS conference was a great success, and it provided an excellent opportunity for researchers and practitioners to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange knowledge in the basic and applied sciences field. Tishk International University is proud to have hosted such a successful conference and looks forward to hosting more such events in the future.
