Tishk International University (TIU), Erbil — On Sunday, November 17, 2024, the Physics Education Department successfully hosted an insightful seminar titled “The Planck Scale in Modern Physics: Unleashing Its Fundamental Role.” The event was presented by Prof. Dr. Azeez A. Barzinjy, a prominent physicist renowned in his field.

Uncovering the Fundamental Role of the Planck Scale

Prof. Barzinjy provided a comprehensive overview of the Planck scale, a critical threshold where quantum mechanics, general relativity, and fundamental physical constants intersect. He explained that this scale defines the smallest measurable units of length, time, and energy, offering new perspectives on the fabric of spacetime and the unification of all forces in the universe.

The seminar emphasized the importance of the Planck scale in addressing some of the most fundamental questions in physics, such as the nature of black holes, the Big Bang singularity, and the ongoing search for a “Theory of Everything.” Prof. Barzinjy highlighted that experiments at this scale challenge classical physics and are essential for understanding the quantized nature of gravity and the universe’s fundamental structure.

The event was a significant opportunity for students, educators, and enthusiasts to engage with cutting-edge concepts in modern physics. We extend our sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Azeez A. Barzinjy for his valuable contribution and to all the participants for their engagement, which exemplified the Physics Education Department’s dedication to promoting academic development and intellectual curiosity.
