National Workshop on Examination Policies and Regulations

Theme: National Workshop on “Empowering Academic Staff to Effectively Implement of Examination Policies and Regulations”

The Physics Education Department of the Education Faculty at Tishk International University hosted the workshop on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 3:30 PM in the Education Building, Room 302. The event brought together academic staff from multiple departments of the faculty to reinforce shared commitments to transparency, fairness, and academic integrity in assessment practices across the university.

The workshop provided a structured platform for enhancing staff awareness of institutional examination policies, promoting consistent implementation, and supporting high-quality teaching and evaluation. In accordance with UN SDG4, teacher training and professional development. Participants engaged actively in discussions that addressed both conceptual and procedural dimensions of assessment management. The workshop featured two keynote presentations delivered by distinguished members of the Faculty of Education:

Session 1: “Effective Implementation of the Examination Policies and Regulations Handbook.”

Dr. Unal introduced the updated Examination Policies and Regulations Handbook, outlining its structure, regulatory revisions, and practical aims. During this session, the core elements of the handbook were discussed collaboratively in group settings, allowing participants to analyze each component, raise clarifying questions, and reflect on how these guidelines align with departmental practices. This interactive element strengthened staff understanding and facilitated a shared interpretation of policy standards.
A major outcome of Dr. Unal’s session was the presentation and preliminary endorsement of a comprehensive handbook manual that will support academic staff in preparing, administering, and finalizing examinations with enhanced consistency and accountability.

Session 2: “Final Exam Procedures: A Step-by-Step Guide.”

Dr. Pishtiwan provided a structured overview of operational procedures for final exams, offering detailed guidance from pre-exam preparation to post-exam documentation. He emphasized critical do’s and don’ts to ensure secure, efficient, and ethically responsible exam administration. His session addressed frequently encountered challenges and offered practical solutions to standardize exam processes across the institution.

Workshop Outcomes

A central achievement of the event was the collective refinement of the Examination Policies and Regulations Handbook Manual. The manual confirms procedural expectations, institutional regulations, and integrity-centered practices that will now serve as an essential reference for all academic staff involved in exam preparation and administration.
The collaborative approach taken during the workshop ensured that this manual reflects both institutional standards and the practical realities experienced by instructors. Participants engaged in open dialogue throughout the workshop, sharing experiences, identifying common concerns, and discussing best practices to enhance exam quality and reliability. By providing staff with clear procedural tools and fostering shared understanding, the workshop marks an important contribution to TIU’s continuing efforts to elevate assessment quality and strengthen academic excellence.
