Introducing Practice Teaching for Senior Students

On October 6, 2025, the Physics Education Department hosted an introductory seminar for senior students of the Practice Teaching course, delivered by Dr. Pishtiwan Akram, Head of Department. The session aimed to familiarize students with the core expectations, responsibilities, and professional standards associated with school-based teaching practice.

Dr. Akram introduced the purpose of practice teaching as a bridge between theoretical coursework and real classroom experience. He outlined key components of the practicum, including classroom observation, lesson planning, instructional delivery, classroom management, and reflective practice. Throughout the seminar, he emphasized the importance of professionalism, effective communication, and maintaining constructive relationships with mentor teachers and school staff.

He also provided guidance on how to approach lesson planning, engage learners through clear instructional strategies, and use reflection to improve teaching performance. Students were encouraged to view the practicum as an opportunity for growth, experimentation, and the development of a personal teaching identity.
