On April 22nd, 2025, the Physics Education Department at Tishk International University successfully completed its community social project, “Beyond the Horizon: Hands-on Astronomy for Students,” at Ishik Runaki International School. The event aimed to inspire scientific curiosity and foster a love for astronomy among young learners through an engaging and educational outreach activity.
A Stellar Experience
Staff and students from the department brought a professional telescope to the school, giving students a rare and exciting opportunity to observe the Sun and the Moon in real time. For many, this was their first time viewing celestial bodies up close. This hands-on experience sparked a palpable sense of wonder and excitement, transforming abstract concepts of space into a tangible reality.
To further encourage their scientific journey, the team gifted small lenses to the students, serving as a reminder of the fascinating world of optics and physics. The enthusiastic participation of the students highlighted the immense success of the event.
Commitment to Community Engagement
This project reflects the Physics Education Department’s dedication to creating a positive impact beyond the university campus. By connecting with the wider community, we aim to inspire the next generation of scientists and instill a passion for learning. We look forward to organizing similar initiatives that merge theoretical knowledge with real-world exploration.
