Scientific Trip to Dukan Dam The Physics Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University organized a scientific trip to Dukan Dam for fourth grade students on March 31st, 2022. The purpose of the trip was to provide students an opportunity to see and understand the practical prosses of generating electricity from water. School Culture On February 17th, 2022, third-grade students at the Physics Education Department paid a visit to Ronaki Hawler Primary School. The trip was organized by the department as a part of EDU 356 School Culture Course. The aim of this trip was to allow students to study a lesson conducted in primary school and to link between the theoretical concepts they have learnt during the course to live lesson teaching. Astronomy Club Second Outdoor Activity The Astronomy Club at Tishk International University held the second outdoor activity on February 7th, 2022. Our students and staff members gathered on this sunny day to observe both the Moon and Sun with the telescope. Participants were amazed while observing the surface of the Sun and counting the number of sunspots with the telescope. It was also possible to see the craters on the Moon during this astronomy activity. We had also some visiting students from the College of Science at Salahadin University. The participating students and staff members gathered on this sunny day outdoors to observe the surface and spots on the Sun through a telescope, The telescope that we use in the Astronomy Club events is the property of Mohammad Abdulaziz from Physics Education Department -2021-2022. This telescope was sent to him as a gift from http://iau.org/public/telescopecollaboration/. The activity was enjoyable and informative.
