6th International Workshop on Nanotechnology

We are delighted to invite you to the 6th International Workshop on Nanotechnology (Hybrid), organised by the Physics Education Department, Faculty of Education, Tishk International University (TIU), Erbil. The event will be held on December 22nd, 2022, at 9:00 AM, at the Faculty of Education building, Hall #302. A live streaming platform will be available to broadcast the workshop events through Zoom. A scientific research article has been published by a group of researchers (Associated Professor Dr Azeez Abdullah Barzanjy, Mr. Chyia Yousef Rahimzadeh and Associated Professor Dr. Ahmad Saleh Mohammed) from Tishk International University, Soran University and Sulaimani University, entitled (Microstructure and chemo-physical characterizations, thermal properties, and modelling of the compressive stress-strain behaviour of lime-based roof and screed paste) in the European Journal of Environmental and Civil Engineering, this journal belongs to the Taylor and Francis Institute.  The impact factor of this journal is (2.187), and the citescore is (4.2). MSc Discussion Committee On November 24th, 2022, Associated Professor Dr Azeez Abdullah Barzinjy participated as a discussion committee member in an M.Sc. Defence by Muhammed Najat Rashko, under the supervision of Prof. Dr Mazin Sherzad and Assist. Prof. Dr Abubakr Hassan. The defence was held in GIS Hall, Scientific Research Center at Soran University. The thesis was titled: Effects of Doping Cadmium Atoms on the Electrical, Optical, and Mechanical Properties of (4-6, 0) Zigzag SWCNTs Using DFT Approach.

A scientific article by our academic staff Associated Professor Dr Azeez Abdullah Barzinjy and Venos Nazim Hamdamen, from Soran University, Tishk International University and Salahaddin University-Erbil entitled: Investigating Physical Properties and Formation Mechanism of Biosynthesized Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Using Dill (Anethum). graveolens Leaf Extract, has been published in the International Journal Nanoscience & Nanotechnology-Asia, which is in the Q3 list and has an impact factor of 0.761. Astronomy Club Third Outdoor Activity: Solar Eclipse The Astronomy Club at the Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University held the third outdoor activity to observe the Solar Eclipse that occurred on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, at 2:00 PM. The astronomical event was observed using a refractor telescope. Participants were excited to see the solar eclipse through the telescope or high-quality sunglasses provided by Dr. Esmail Musa from the Physics Education Department, who also took the opportunity to explain the scientific definition of a solar eclipse and the history of its previous occurrences.  The Astronomy Club also prepared displays about this [...]
