A seminar on What makes a great physics teacher was held by Tishk International University in career days of Tishk International University. The Seminar was presented by Mr. Ahmet Dinc who works as Physics teacher at Fazalar Education Institutions. This seminar was about the most important tips that lead the students to a successful Physics teacher in Physics Education Department. The topics of the seminar were Language Proficiency, Academic (subject) Proficiency, Educational Proficiency, Educational Workshop, Lab. work and using Technology in Physics Education We would like to thank Mr. Ahmet Dinc for giving us his valuable times during the seminar.

A seminar on Physics Timeline was held by Department of Physics Education. The Seminar was presented by Mr. Sver who works as research assistant at Physics Education Department. This seminar has encouraged students to know and learn the history of Physics so that get benefit from the goods and avoid not doing the mistakes again; this seminar was about the great work of the scientists and a short biography of their life, in series starting from 17th century till 21st. We would like to thank Mr. Sver for giving us his valuable times during the seminar.  

In Physics, having academic field trip is important and enjoyable element of our education system. We organized an academic field trip to Darbandikhan Dam in Sulaimani. The purpose of the field trip was to observe and to learn how to produce electricity from dam. Our students significantly enhanced the content of the course by providing a type of information hard to convey in the class. We would like to thank the Head of hydroelectric power generation unit, Faruq Ahmed for accepting our request and introducing our students to Darbandikhan Dam.

A seminar on How to Write a Scientific Project was held by Department of Physics Education. The Seminar was presented by Dr. Duran Kala who works as dean at Engineering Faculty. This seminar has encouraged students to understand Scientific Project and prepare a good National and International Project Olympiads. It has explained to them that preparing a scientific project needs some techniques like finding project topics, scientific method and the important point’s necessary for project preparation. We would like to thank Dr. Duran Kala for giving us his valuable times during the seminar.

A seminar on File Formats and Searching Strategies has been held for the Physics Education Department’s second year students. In this seminar the most common file formats have been introduced and as well their differences and comparisons have been explained.  In order to help students to use search engines and conduct their searches properly by showing them different methodologies and techniques of searching, which any educator needs to know for propose of getting targeted information in a short time on internet. A scientific visit to the Civil Engineering laboratories was arranged for the Physics Education Department’s second year students. Our visit to the advanced laboratories was for the purpose of increasing students’ scientific knowledge as well introducing the practical side of the courses they study, especially Materials Science. Besides this fact, it provides a way to encourage students to have fun while learning. Civil Engineering has five advanced laboratories under the name of Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Surveying, Transportation, and Concrete.
