The Physics Department, Faculty of Education has organized a scientific tour entitled Hydroelectric power. The tour involved the participation of second-year students by visiting the Civil Engineering labs. Lecturers and lab assistance explained the construction of dams and the important principles and concepts in producing hydrostatic power. Designed prototypes were introduced inside the labs to enable students to well understand important points in hydroelectricity production.

On the 14th of March 2019, Tishk International University organized a tree planting activity as an attempt to save and to enhance nature. The activities involved planting some trees inside the University campus. The Physics department students and staff were cooperated to succeed in the activities. Dr. Idris Hadi has also participated in this activity.

Physics Department, Faculty of Education is organizing a workshop on the identification of different types of rocks and minerals. The workshop will be held on the 3rd of April, 2019 at 1:30 pm. The workshop includes two sessions. The first session will be presented by Mr. Zahid Mohammed Omer from the Department of Geology of Petroleum and Sediments, Duhok Polytechnic University. Whereas, the second session will be presented by Mohammed Hazem Awn Al-deen, 4th-year student, Department of Applied Geosciences, college of Spatial Planning & Applied Science, University of Duhok.

Dears first-year students, the Physics department would like to announce that Tuesday 26th March is the first day of the new semester. Attendance will be strictly considered.

On the 2nd of March 2019, the 3rd national pop-conference was held by the Faculty of Education, Tishk International University (TIU). The departments of Biology, English, Mathematics and Physics had organized the conference and participated. The held conference aimed to develop teaching skills and experiences of the Faculty candidates. Qualified and experienced teachers from different fields of education have been invited from different schools in Erbil to share their teaching experiences with the Faculty candidates. It is a privilege to have Dr. Frano Ivezaj, the principal of the British international school (BISK) visiting to the Physics department, Faculty of Education on 26th Feb 2019. The dean of the Faculty of Education and the department's heads had warmly welcomed the BISK principal. The meeting involved a discussion about the pop conference events besides, a promising academic collaboration was discussed between Dr. Frano and the faculty of Education, Tishk International University.

On Feb-6th,  2019, the Physics Education department organized a departmental workshop on syllabuses development entitled “Syllabus design on Materials Adaptation and Development in Physics". First, previous year syllabuses were rechecked and briefly discussed. After which, the discussion was started on how to improve important Physics syllabuses. Academic staff from the Physics department were participated in the workshop and new ideas were introduced. Experimental activities were also involved in the workshop that significantly contribute to the workshop proceeding.

The Physics Education department, Faculty of Education organized a series of departmental workshop on syllabuses design. The first workshop was presented in Feb 5th, 2019. The aim of this workshops was to improve course syllabuses. Staff members of the Physics department were attended the workshop where, extremely important points and feedback were highlighted and discussed. The workshop outlines was discussed and evaluated where intensive evaluation forms were filled in order to achieve the major target of the workshop.

Tishk International University (TIU) has organized its annual program, VISITING YOUR FUTURE for high school students. The high school students in Erbil were invited to visit the TIU for 3-days programme (February 19th- 21st, 2019) as an attempt to motivate the students to set a future academic plan. The departments of the TIU have participated in the events and they have prepared their booths in the main entrance of the University to introduce their departments.
