In Physics, having academic field trip is important and enjoyable element of our education system. On 05.04.2018, we organized an academic field trip to Dukan Dam in Sulaimani-Dukan. The purpose of the field trip was to observe and to learn how to produce electricity from the dams. Our students significantly enhanced the content of the course by providing a type of information hard to convey in the class. We would like to thank the Head of hydroelectric power generation unit, Ako Jamal Rasul for accepting our request and offering the scientific explanations and introducing our students to the Dukan dam. On 04.04.2018, the debates were regulated and managed jointly by Mr. Bukhari Abdulla, and Dr. Rauf Avci, two lecturers of the Faculty, as well as the assist of Mr. Reman Meena, the chairperson. The Debate Competition was between the students in Physics Education Department at Tishk International University and Salahaddin University. They tackled plenty of cultural, intellectual, political, educational and scientific issues, problems, and discussions of the Kurdish community specifically and the globe. On 03.04.2018, also the 4th grade students in Physics Education Department paid a visit to Ronaky Primary School as a field trip. They observed students' arts and handcrafts displayed on the walls. They also participated with the workshop presented by the primary school students on Interactive science notebook. This field trip improved our senior students' understanding about modern teaching methods. [wds id="16"]

On April 03, 2018 a seminar about electricity production in hydroelectric power plants was presented to 2nd grade students by Dr. Semih Aydin who is head of Physics Education Departmnent. The title of the seminar was "HYDROELECTRICITY: From water droplets to electricity". The purpose was to inform the students about dam structure, water collection, and energy changes in a hydroelectric power plant, turbine, electricity generators, transformers and electricity delivery system. On 03.04.2018, the 2nd grade students in Physics Education Department paid a visit to Ronaky Primary School and participated in a student workshop on Interactive Science Notebook presented by the students of Ronaki Primary School. This field trip was a part of "Technical English" course for the second grade students. Students observed a lot of works prepared by primary school students. This kind of trips improves our future teachers' positive attitudes towards being teacher. [wds id="14"]

On 02.04.2018, a seminar under the title of “Structure of Dukan Dam” was presented by Barham Hayder (Ph.D. student) who is the head of Civil Engineering in Tishk International University. In the seminar, a general overview was explained about the different types of dam structure. A detailed information were presented about Dukan Dam such as the coffer dam construction, diversion channel location, duty of spillway and bell mouth, function of gallery and the penstocks which are embedded in the dam  to convey water for the downstream part. The 2nd NPC-2018 conference was held on 31th of March 2018 in Education Faculty of Tishk International University. Most of the universities around the World organize professional development programs for last grades students. Most of those significant programs are about workshops, seminars, conferences and courses. As Physics Education Department, we decided that we can participate and organize pop-conference for our last grade students on a day like an international conference. On 08.03.2018, a seminar is presented by Mr Pshtewan which was organized by Physics Education department. The seminar was about How to write a better Physics laboratory reports. In this seminar Mr Pshtewan shared his own experiences on physics laboratory reports with the students of second year in Physics Education Department.  

Under the title of “How to use internet for learning Physics” on March 8, 2018. Mr Pshtewan presented a seminar about How to use internet for learning Physics for the staffs and students of physics department. He explained the better way to achieve information related to physics. One of the aims of this seminar was to share the idea of getting the information in a shorter time that states before using internet we need to organize the things we need to search and always focusing on it.

As a constant part of the students’ activities, motivations and projects, the Faculty of Education at the University of Tishk International have held a series of debate competitions. Starting from the 7th February, the discussion was finalized on the 1st March 2018. The competition contained 16 volunteer groups from the departments of ELT, Physics, Biology, and Math. The topics of the debate were controversial and arguable. They tackled plenty of cultural, intellectual, political, educational and scientific issues, problems, and discussions of the Kurdish community specifically and the globe.
