Welcome, Physics Students: Joyful Start of Academic Year 2024-2025
On October 15th, 2024, the Physics Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University (TIU) opened its arms to welcome fresher and returning students into the fountain of excitement that has been the 2024-2025 academic year. In attendance was the highly regarded Dean of the Faculty of Education, with all the physics staff ready to plunge into this new academic year.
The Dean of the Faculty of Education, in his first speech, motivated the students and stated that physics education provides the foundation stone for achieving a better future. He asked students to grab every opportunity to their best advantage and grow at both academic and personal levels. “The study of physics enriches not only your knowledge but also instills in you critical thinking and problem-solving abilities which shall be helpful in every sphere of life.
The Head of the Physics Department, Dr. Pishtiwan Akrem, has also presented to the students the department’s vision and expectations for the year. He said that the department is committed to quality education, support, and extended opportunities concerning research and professional development.
Then came the introduction of academic staff, each having something to say about his or her field of interest and which course he or she would teach that semester. Such interactions provided students with an opportunity to get acquainted with their professors and understand some of the resources that may be utilized in support of their academic journey.
The induction ceremony ended with a social get-together, during which the students and staff mingled, sharing ideas, and ironing out a good rapport that would result in a successful academic year.
The Department of Physics Education looks forward to a promising and productive 2024-2025 academic year in which both work together for excellence in education and research.
