Tishk International University is taking the lead in both organizing and presenting the first ever national talk series for students in the Kurdistan Region called Kurdistan Students Talks (KST). KST is a student-led, student-organized, and student-ran series of talk events that is ran by students of English Language Teaching Department. The idea of the project goes back Mawdud Ibahim, a graduating student of ELT Department. KST invites students from other universities in the Kurdistan Region to share their ideas and talents in presentation, critical thinking, analytical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. It aims to bring in the voices of Kurdistan Region Higher education students together in one place.

The first of these talks was presented by Ridhwan T. Karem, a student of ELT Department of Tishk International University. The catchy, interesting, and well-presented talk gathered a big crowd. It was entitled Strategies to learn a language delivered on 14th, Feb. 2017.
