“Digital Citizenship” is a course designed to educate students on the responsible use of technology and the internet. Students will learn about online actions’ ethical and legal implications and how to make informed decisions when navigating the digital world. Additionally, students will understand the role of technology in society and how to use it to impact their communities positively. Through interactive activities and discussions, students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be responsible digital citizens.

Course Description:
This course introduces students to the major tenants of the critical approach in education (Critical Pedagogy). It will incorporate a variety of mind games and reasoning activities that help students exercise logical thinking and understand logical fallacies. Through these games and activities, students can recognize different streams of reasoning and argumentation in society. The course will connect logical argumentations to elaborate on the theory and practice of education. The reading material for this course is available in both English and Kurdish, and in video format.
Course aims:
- This course will help students easily understand the importance of a healthy educational process for a democratic society by recognizing the relationship between education and democracy.
- Students will understand the true meaning of critical thinking by examining the meanings of “critical” and “non-critical” in educational contexts.
The course emphasizes students’ participation in decision-making, the development of critical thinking, civic engagement, and social responsibility.
Students who are interested in this course are encouraged to have successfully completed other courses, such as Introduction to Education, academic reading and writing, and literature courses.

This course is designed to help students recognize the transformative nature of education and teaching in schools and society. It will incorporate creative works in text and video formats into the critical approach in education. We will watch popular films that cover educational, cultural, and social issues, read short works of literature and literary criticism, and engage in creative writing experiences.
Students who take this course are encouraged to have successfully completed other courses, such as Teaching for Transformation, Introduction to Education, academic reading and writing, and literature courses.

Course Description:
This course introduces students to contemporary debates in foreign and second language education. It specifically addresses the current issues in English Language Teaching. Students will learn about pedagogical issues by drawing on the latest research findings which is a way to investigate and find solutions to the current issues that arise in the process of learning and teaching. Particular attention will be given to pre-service teachers’ contributions to language learning, including the examination of critical aspects of individual learner differences from a socio-cultural and psychological perspective. Additionally, reviewing the contemporary issues in ELT can add value to language teachers and learners. Exploring this area shows where we are now, and where we are headed to prepare teachers and learners for future challenges and benefits. Students also will acquire a detailed overview of current issues in teaching methodology such as needs analysis, and new trends in designing teaching materials both traditionally and digitally.
Students who take this course are interested in exploring contemporary approaches and their applications in EFL contexts, teaching, and learning.
