3rd IWENTP International Workshop: Education: New Trends and Prospects – Overview
On September 22nd, 2022, the English Language Teaching Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University held its 3rd International Workshop on Education: New Trends and Prospects (3rd IWENTP). The key intention of the workshop was to provide opportunities for interaction between international and national academicians to share their ideas and experiences as well as build ideas for research aiming at the enhancement of the current status of education, in general, and English Language Teaching, in specific. To achieve these objectives, the workshop embraced most novel and critical topics presented in two different sessions.
The first session was presented by Prof. Dr. Fatimah Rashid Hasan Al Bajalani – Salahaddin University-Erbil, Iraq, and highlighted “Lifelong Learning: An Emerging Trend.” Additionally, the second session presented by Dr. Mariam Merkviladze – International Black Sea University and Ilia State University, Georgia, covered “Tech-inclusive Education: Challenges and Opportunities.”
A panel session on “Distraction Vs. Attention in Class” was also organized during the workshop. Undoubtedly, this issue has been a matter of debate and research as it directly determines the achievement of lesson objectives and learning. In this line, the panel looked at the issue by exploring the relevant and most recent literature, discussing the critical causes, sharing real-life experiences, and, thus, providing certain solutions. The event comprised four panellists from different academic institutions, each having a rich canon of teaching experience:
