Information to Students

The aim of Summer Term:

  1. Students have the opportunity to take upper year courses so that they have a chance to graduate earlier.
  2. Students have the opportunity to increase their grades so that they have a better average (increase GPA).
  3. Students who have failed their courses during the academic year have an opportunity to take the same courses in the summer term.

Some important points students need to know:

  1. Students who have failed the courses FF, FD, DD–, DC– and due to attendance (NA), they may have summer term courses yet attendance and payment are compulsory. In summer term students are allowed utmost 3 courses (course hours are given twice as much as credit; for instance, a course which has 3 credits will be taught 6 hours in a week).
  2. A course will be opened in summer term on condition that minimum 4 students enroll. Students will pay an amount of payment per credit hour in the summer term.
  3. Full-registration must be completed on 1 – 4 August 2018.
  4. The last day for add and drop courses is 5 August 2018.
  5. Classes start from 5 August 2018 to 13 September 2018.
  6. Summer term course final examinations will take place between September 16- 23, 2018.
  7. The educational term for the summer term is 6 (5+1) weeks. The first five weeks include summer term mid-term and other exams. 6th week covers final exams.

  9. All passing grades, attendance rules, disciplinary rules will be applied according to ‘Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, and Disciplinary Rules of Tishk International University’.
  10. Summer term registration process will be implemented through SIS system (as in other semesters)
