National Workshop on Pedagogical Creativity with AI: How AI is Reshaping Education?
On September 28th, 2023, the Computer Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University hosted a National Workshop on Pedagogical Creativity with AI. Slvar Abdulazeez Arif, Kanar Z. Haseeb Chicho, Soma Hassan Husein, and Ldya Aso Sherko, and other faculty members presented the workshop.
The workshop kicked off with an enlightening introduction to AI and explored its vast potential applications in education. Subsequently, the presenters delved into ways educators can leverage AI to personalize learning, offer real-time feedback, and automate routine tasks, allowing educators to concentrate on more significant matters.
Moving forward with their engaging presentations, the speakers examined a wide range of strategies for integrating AI to stimulate pedagogical creativity during discussion sessions. This immersive workshop comprised two sessions. The first session, lasting almost an hour, was dedicated to open discussions, with 40 minutes allocated to these exchanges, followed by 20 minutes during which group leaders presented the results. These discussions organized into four categories: IT, Education, Science, and Language, forming a stimulating platform for collaborative learning.
Transitioning to hands-on participation, workshop attendees actively shaped lesson plans and crafted learning activities that incorporated AI in creative and innovative ways, as they worked together in small groups. As the workshop concluded, it featured a dynamic showcase of examples of AI-powered tools and resources, unveiling the potential for creating engaging and interactive lessons, pioneering new learning activities, and revolutionizing methods for assessing student progress. The event came to an end in the Computer Lab, allowing participants to experience the transformative tools firsthand.
In closing, Slvar Abdulazeez Arif, the Head of the Organizing Committee, officially certified the presenters and organizers, marking the successful conclusion of this educational event.
