Farm Smart Project Leads Innovation in Agriculture and Wins First Place at the National Innovation Competition in Engineering (NICE)
on May 17, 2024, the National Innovation Competition in Engineering (NICE), conducted yearly by Tishk International Universityunder the direction of the Computer Engineering Department, Though many creative ideas were presented in the esteemed competition this year, the Farm Smart initiative won first place.
Developed by Mr. Muhamed Anwar, under the direction of gifted students [names], Farm Smart is a novel concept in smart agriculture. Water management is one of the most urgent issues facing contemporary agriculture and the project handles it. Farm Smart effectively monitors soil moisture levels using Internet of Things (IoT) technology to ascertain irrigation need on the farm.
Real-time ground-based data drives the system to automatically change the water supply. Should the soil call for a little bit of water, the system supplies exactly the correct dosage. Should irrigation not be required, no water is lost. In areas where water conservation is a top issue, this clever idea helps to maximize water use.
This research shows how digital innovation may propel improved agriculture methods by perfectly combining sustainability with technology. Farm Smart reflects the direction of precision farming by including automated irrigation and AI-powered sensors.
Farm Smart's success is evidence of our students' inventiveness and technical acumen as well as of the Computer Engineering Department's dedication to produce original ideas with practical influence. We are really pleased with this accomplishment and hope to see more creative ideas coming out of our pupils.
