TIU Hosts DAAD Workshop on International Funding
On May 7, 2025, the Computer Education Department at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted a workshop titled “International DAAD Funding Opportunities – Individual and Project Funding.” The event took place in Building Hall 302 and aimed to equip students and academic staff with the knowledge needed to pursue international collaboration and research.
The workshop, which introduced participants to the diverse funding schemes offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), was divided into two key sessions:
- Session 1: Introduction to AI
- Session 2: AI Challenges in the Academic Field
The presentations were delivered by Jwan Khalis, Program Coordinator at the DAAD Information Center Erbil, and Gaja Meacci, Ta’ziz Program Officer at the DAAD Regional Office Amman. They provided valuable insights into the opportunities DAAD offers, while also addressing the intersection of AI and academia. Their talks highlighted the challenges and potential solutions that come with integrating artificial intelligence into educational and research practices.
The workshop concluded with an engaging discussion that gave attendees the chance to explore opportunities for studies, research, and teaching exchanges in Germany. The event served as a crucial step in fostering stronger academic ties between TIU and German institutions.
