TIU Students Participate in DAAD Digital Heritage Project in Oman
The Faculty of Education at Tishk International University (TIU) is proud to announce that two of our bright students from the Computer Education Department, Shazad Hussen and Razaw Rostam, took part in the prestigious DAAD Project for Digital Heritage in Oman. This exceptional opportunity allowed them to represent TIU on an international stage and contribute to vital discussions on cultural preservation through technological innovation.
Organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the program brought together young researchers and academics from across the globe. The core objective was to explore how modern digital tools, such as 3D scanning, digital archiving, and interactive platforms, can be leveraged to document, protect, and share historical and cultural heritage.
A Fusion of Technology and Culture
During their time in Oman, Shazad and Razaw attended conferences and workshops, gaining invaluable insights into the intersection of technology and cultural studies. They also had the chance to network with international participants, exchange ideas, and learn from experts in the field of digital heritage.
Beyond the academic sessions, the project included visits to historical landmarks and cultural sites in Oman. Exploring these ancient places gave our students a direct connection to the heritage that such initiatives aim to preserve, prompting them to reflect on the global importance of safeguarding cultural identity in the digital age.
This experience not only broadened their academic and professional horizons but also strengthened their commitment to using technology as a tool for cultural preservation. Their active participation demonstrates the pivotal role TIU students play in bridging tradition with innovation and engaging with projects of both local and international significance.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Shazad Hussen and Razaw Rostam for their successful participation and for proudly representing Tishk International University. Their journey is an inspiration to their peers and a testament to the impact that education, research, and global collaboration can have in shaping a brighter future.
