Fourth Grade Poster Presentation The Department of Biology, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University, organized a Poster Presentation for fourth-grade students under the theme: "Collecting and Applying Unwanted Plants in the Different Aspects of Life Science and Medicine", held on April 10th, 2022. The presentation was organized under the supervision of Mr Zanyar Othman, Research Assistant at the Biology Education Department. Twenty-three projects were presented and evaluated by several departmental lecturers.
NAYREC 2022 (9th National Young Researchers Conference) The Faculty of Education at Tishk International University held the annual Young Researcher Conference titled “9th National Young Researchers Conference” on 26th May 2022, sponsored by Korek Telecom. Biology Department first-grade students hosted a Poster Presentation for Principal Botany course, on May 19th, 2022, with the theme: (Using materials to illustrate 3D components of plants) the poster presentation was model-based. Seven ideas were presented and assessed. Mis. Shnyar the laboratory assistant and some other teachers from the department evaluated the students on different criteria.
5th International Festival of Language, Culture and Science The Dean of Students Office at Tishk International University (TIU) organized the 5th International Festival of Language, Culture and Science at the TIU campus under the theme of “Green Energy and Minimum Waste” with the participation of general consulates, politicians, parents, students, staff, and guests, held on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022. The festival aimed to raise support for renewable energy as a solution to the region’s crises of energy and environment and to increase the awareness of minimum waste. Graduation Photo Day Graduation is an incredibly important time for a University student. A celebration is necessary after years of hard work, late nights, and gruelling assignments and exams. Scientific Trip to Zheen International Hospital Laboratory The Biology Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University, organized a scientific trip to Zheen International Hospital Genetics Department Laboratory for 3rd-grade students on May 16th, 2022. The trip was supervised by Mr Harmand A. Hama and Mr Zanyar Othman. The trip aimed to provide students with an opportunity to understand the tests conducted in the laboratory, including tests to identify chromosome abnormalities such as aneuploidy and rearrangements. Scientific trip to Salahaddin University Herbarium On May 10th, 2022, the Biology Education Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University, organized a trip to Salahaddin University Herbarium to learn about the plants from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq that have been stored since 1978. Medicinal plants, parasitic plants and casual herbs are the plants stored in the herbarium. The trip aimed to familiarize students with the plants they studied in the Plant Taxonomy Course during the Spring Semester.
