The event, titled &#8220;The Direction of Feminism in the Programs and Policies of Academic and Scientific Centers in the Kurdistan Region,&#8221; took place at the <\/span><strong><span class=\"selected\">Erbil International Hotel<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"selected\">. It was organized by the <\/span><strong><span class=\"selected\">Emma Organization for Human Development<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"selected\">, in cooperation with <\/span><strong><span class=\"selected\">Norwegian People\u2019s Aid<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"selected\">. Our department head, <\/span><strong><span class=\"selected\">Dr. Orhan Tug<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"selected\">, and <\/span><strong><span class=\"selected\">Asst. Prof. Dr. Salisu Ibrahim<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"selected\"> also attended the event.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span class=\"selected\">Addressing Critical Issues<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"selected\">The panel brought together a diverse group of academics, policymakers, and activists to address critical issues related to the integration and advancement of feminist ideologies in academic and scientific domains. Discussions focused on:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"selected\">The current state of feminism in academic curricula and research frameworks in the region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"selected\">Challenges and opportunities for embedding gender equality principles in educational and scientific policies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"selected\">Strategies to strengthen the feminist movement through collaboration between academic institutions, civil society, and government bodies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span class=\"selected\">Our Contribution and Future Goals<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"selected\">Our representative, Dr. Suzan Sabri, shared valuable insights on the importance of fostering gender-inclusive policies in academia. She highlighted best practices from both regional and global perspectives, emphasizing the vital role of education and research in driving social change.
