On 26th October 2022, the department of Mathematics Education in the faculty of Education at Tishk International University held a national workshop on Teaching and Learning of Mathematics. This was the 2nd such workshops held by the department and the theme for this year was Effective and Sustainable Use of Technology in Teaching University Level Mathematics. The main objective for the workshop was to do a postmortem of the application of technology in teaching and learning of university level mathematics during the pandemic and interrogate the sustainability of these technologies in terms of disruptions, adaptability, and consistency. In addition, the workshop was to examine the effectiveness of using technology in teaching and learning of university level mathematics from the students\u2019 psychological point of view.<\/p>\n
The workshop was officially opened by the chairman at 1330 hours and attended by approximately 100 academicians from different parts of Iraq including Mosul, Koya, and Erbil representing various universities, notably Salahaddin University, The University of Mosul, Koya University, Erbil Technical University and Erbil Polytechnic. In his closing remarks, the head of Mathematics Education department gave a vote of thanks to all attendees and encouraged them to partner with TIU by attending and contributing to the workshop in the coming years. Lastly, he invited all guests to a sumptuous dinner at one of the best city restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
